Lonsdale Elementary School

Dedicated To Excellence In Education

  • Dear Lonsdale Community,

Welcome back to Lonsdale Elementary School for the 2025–2026 school year. I hope everyone enjoyed the summer and is ready to begin a new year of learning. We have missed our Lonsdale Lions and look forward to seeing our students in grades 1-5 for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 27th.

Our new kindergarten Class of 2038 will begin with soft start screening appointments on Wednesday, August 27 (10:00–11:30 AM screenings or 12:30–2:00 PM) and Thursday, August 28 (10:00–11:30 AM). Kindergarten families will receive teacher/classroom assignments by email on Thursday, August 28, following screenings. Kindergarten officially begins on Tuesday, September 2, for the start of full-day kindergarten.

Please note there will be no school on Friday, August 29th, or Monday, September 1st, in observance of the Labor Day weekend.

Over the summer, we completed a cafeteria remodel with new flooring, fresh paint, and updated furniture, arriving in October. We are also excited to open our new gymnasium, STEM classrooms, and additional learning spaces by November. Until construction is complete, physical education classes will be held outdoors or indoors for health lessons on inclement weather days, led by Mr. Armstrong and our new Wednesday PE teacher, Mr. Oldham.

Our staff have been working hard to prepare for the year. Mrs. Ryan, our school secretary, has been registering new families, organizing materials, and updating student records. Custodians Mr. Jeremy and Mr. Scott worked tirelessly to clean and prepare the building despite ongoing construction. Please take a moment to thank them for their efforts when you see them.

This year, we will continue to focus on academics, student engagement, and our school improvement plan. Please click HERE to view our SIP for 2025/2026.  We remain committed to high expectations, grade-level learning, inquiry-based activities, and strong family-school partnerships. Please stay connected through our Lonsdale Parents and Teachers (LPT) organization, Skyward, our school and district websites, and social media.

I would also like to welcome our new kindergarten teacher, Miss Chloe Stallings, and our new PE teacher, Mr. Oldham.

I look forward to working together to make this year successful for all students. Please review the back-to-school newsletter for important information and upcoming events.

Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your summer.

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Goho
    Principal, Lonsdale Elementary School
